American Story Theater Presents Tales for
WaterFire
September 2 and September 16
The American Story Theater is pleased to announce its
second season of "Tales for WaterFire -- stories for
families, stories for adults." Three world-class
storytellers will spin tales tag-team style at 8pm, 9pm,
and 10 pm on Saturday, September 2 and Saturday,
September 16. This event will be held on Steeple Street,
in Providence, RI. It is Free and underwritten by the
Citizens Bank Foundation.
"Come to hear one story, but stay for more" is the
theme of this event designed specifically for WaterFire.
The 8pm show will be family-appropriate, but as the
evening grows later and the youngsters ought to be in
bed, the themes will get more and more...
interesting.
Performers include Michael Anderson, Catherine Conant,
Marvin Novogrodski, Norah Dooley, and American Story
Theater founder and director Mark Binder.
"Last year we started at 6:30 and aimed our program
mostly at the youngsters and family folk," said Mark
Binder. "This year, we're bringing some of our Odd
Wednesday program to Saturday night, and will be playing
to the sensibility of people who enjoy Comedy Central,
Adult Swim and films by John Woo."
